Welcome !
The most significant action taken at the 30th Regular Session of the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists was to wholeheartedly pursue a five-year initiative entitled, "Touch Every One for Jesus." In this initiative every church and school, every program and ministry, every member is challenged to touch the life of every person in the State of Illinois for Jesus. With a population of over 12.7 million people, this is indeed a daunting task.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:14: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Every zip code of the State has been assigned to a church, and each church is challenged to grapple with how to touch the lives of those who live in the community. Our new evangelism committee will include an advocate for each of the five major people groups found in our State: African-American, Asian, Caucasian, Eastern European, and Hispanic. We will also seek out those of other people groups and share the Gospel in word and action.
There is no way this initiative can be accomplished merely through human planning and organization. When we succeed with this project may all the people around us react as they did in Nehemiah's time, " . . . for they perceived that this work was done by our God." - Nehemiah 6:16 NKJV
As a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Illinois, you are invited to become involved in this mission. Join in prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on your church. Get involved in touching the lives of people in your community for Jesus. And, finally, share your stories of how you are touching every1 in your community for Jesus.
